Yet, it is essential to note that the primary cause of death was cardiac arrhythmia, or an irregular heartbeat, possibly brought on by drug abuse. Also, while constipation was a severe problem for him, it is not typically listed as a direct cause of his death.

Elvis Presley began his recording career in July 1953 at Sun Records in Memphis, Tennessee. The first song he recorded was "My Happiness," which he stated was intended as a gift for his mother. He returned in January 1954 to record his second song "I'll Never Stand In Your Way". His first commercial recording however, was "That's All Right", which was recorded and released in July 1954.

Elvis Presley's manager was Colonel Tom Parker. Born as Andreas Cornelis van Kuijk, Parker was a Dutch-born American who managed Presley's career from 1955 until the singer's death in 1977. He is often credited with helping catapult Presley to international stardom, but he has also been criticized for taking a high percentage of Presley's earnings and for not expanding the artist's career into serious film roles and international touring.

Elvis Presley met Priscilla Beaulieu on September 13, 1959, while he was stationed in Germany during his service in the U.S. Army. At the time, Priscilla was only 14 years old, while Elvis was 24. Their relationship became increasingly serious and they eventually got married on May 1, 1967, in Las Vegas.
