Howie Morenz was a Canadian ice hockey player, known as one of the greatest players in the history of the sport. Born Howard William Morenz on September 21, 1902, in Mitchell, Ontario, he predominantly played center for the Montreal Canadiens in the National Hockey League (NHL).

Morenz joined the Canadiens in 1923 and quickly became one of the league's most thrilling stars due to his exceptional skating speed, skill, and scoring ability.
