Overview

The Files feature allows you to upload documents and have AI-powered conversations about their content. Ask questions, get summaries, extract data, or compare multiple documents with ease.

Plus Feature

The Files feature is available exclusively to Plus subscribers. Upgrade to unlock document analysis capabilities.

Supported File Types

Gab AI can process many file types:

Documents

PDF, DOC, DOCX, TXT

Images

JPG, PNG, GIF, WEBP

Spreadsheets

CSV, XLSX, XLS

Code

JS, PY, TS, and more

Uploading Files

There are multiple ways to upload files:

• Chat attachment — Click the 📎 icon in the chat input
• Drag and drop — Drop files directly into the chat area
• Files page — Upload and manage files from the Files section
• Copy/paste — Paste images directly from clipboard

Chatting with Files

Once uploaded, you can ask questions about your files:

• Summarize — 'Give me a summary of this document'
• Extract — 'What are the key points from this PDF?'
• Analyze — 'What trends do you see in this spreadsheet?'
• Compare — 'How do these two documents differ?'
• Code review — 'Review this code for potential bugs'

Multi-File Conversations

Upload multiple files and ask questions that reference them all. AI can compare, contrast, and synthesize information across documents.

Managing Your Files

Access the Files section from the sidebar to manage your uploaded files:

• View — Browse all uploaded files with previews
• Search — Find files by name or content
• Organize — Sort by date, type, or name
• Delete — Remove files you no longer need
• Download — Save files back to your device

File Limits

Current file limits:

50 MB per file

Storage

5 GB total storage

Per chat

Up to 10 files per conversation

Privacy & Security

Your files are secure:

• Encrypted in transit and at rest
• Never shared with third parties
• You can delete files anytime
• Files are only used for your conversations
